Which is better materail for a trench coats outer layer?

felt wool or flannel? The wool material I have found says felted wool, doe sthat mean its like those little felt pieces you find in the crafts section????Which is better materail for a trench coats outer layer?

Go with the wool wool. It's made similar to the stuff at craft stores (basically the fiber is shrunk and made tighter and thicker by placing it in hot water) but craft felt is acrylic, felt wool is wool and a completely different class. Don't buy the craft felts. I have one overcoat made from boiled wool and it's very warm. If you're looking for inexpensive fabrics, then flannel.
I would go with washable wool.
