The Ozone Whole is smaller than it used to be and many scientists believe that is no longer an issue.





But enviromnetal scientist generally never seem to throw partys at small victories.





They face a catch-22, if they celebrate too much, then people believe that all of the environmental problems are over and stop fighting for their cause, if they never celebrate people think it is futile and stop fighting.
I think the scariest thing about Al Gore is that he probably believes what he says and that included inventing the internet and being the subject of Love Story.

The Ozone layer is no longer an issue. They say that since CFC's were banned in the late 80's, the Ozone layer has been repairing itself. Al Gore just wants to make money.
Ozone is having problems defending life on earth. Humans are producing to much but it is near the surface and causes lung problems. Ozone layer is still being destroyed by benzene, solvents and refrigerants. Some of these harmful chemicals are being deposited on the South Pole causing more problems. Yes, he is. He cannot answer why the 1930s' where the warmest years recorded on earth, and after 40+ years of awful CO2 emissions the earth went into a cooling trend in the 1970s'. He uses fear and unscientific theory's to spread his fertilizer. #1 The ozone layer thickness was not recorded 50 years ago. #2 This talk of rising sea levels is a crock, even a 4th grade student knows when ice melts and turns to H2O, it loses mass, so much for rising sea levels. Only one of the earth's pole has land mass under it. One hurricane hit U.S. 48 land last year, we were suppose to have 17 or so. If Mr Gore can just promote a little doubt, fear, the sky is falling, etc., he still has a job. United States can only be destroyed

The issue with the Ozone layer and the issue of global warming are two entirely separate issues. The issue with the Ozone layer was caused by CFC bonding with the Ozone to form a new molecule thus ripping ozone away.





cfc's are in freon, since replaced by r134a, they were used as blowing agents in polymer foams, since replaced.





If no action had been taken to preserve the ozone, you can bet it would be a huge issue still, one that hits millions of people very personally, just like global warming will if no direct, widespread action is taken.
