Well, they can be. Seborrheic keratosis certainly is but i don't know about other lesions. Prickle cells synthesise keratin as well and they aren't in the basal layer, so it doesn't seem inevitable.Hyperkeratotic skin lesions are als known as a disease of the basal layer of the skin! True or false?

Hyperkeratotic lesions are not consider a skin disease, as they are the result of bio-mechanical stress aka friction, rubbing all that gravy. Report Abuse
