Why ozone layer is on the environment?

ozone layer o3 is havier than oxygen o2.but in nature it is on the o2.Why ozone layer is on the environment?
Yep...O2= O + O

O3 = O2 + O

EXPLANATION:

see..its simple...oxygen molecules are present as o2 but due to infrared radiations they split up into o + o...but some oxygen molecules i.e o2 are incapable of splitting up so they fuse with free o (also called nascent oxygen)...this forms: o2 + o =o3...infrared radiations cause them to lose their molecular weight thereby causing them to rise to the upper strata of atmosphere....

hope this helps!!

I am not sure I understand your question, but I think you are asking why o3 exist at all since oxygen naturally occurs as o2.

If that is the question the answer is that ozone is created in the stratosphere when ultraviolet light hits the o2 there, the o2 is split and the free oxygen is unstable and quickly finds an o2 molecule to grab on to thus creating o3.
