Does earth need four layer to exist ?

Meaning the inner core, outer core, mantle and crust to function properly ? Grandkids home work !!Does earth need four layer to exist ?
YES

DUH!!Does earth need four layer to exist ?
That depends on what you mean by ';to function properly';.

Mars doesn't have those layers, and it functions fine as a planet.

So does Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

The molten metal core in motion is what generates our magnetic field, which protects life on the surface from solar and cosmic radiation. So we need that to survive, but the planet doesn't need it.

The crust is relatively cool, so we have a comfortable place to live and where water can remain liquid and support life. We need it, but the planet doesn't.
Yes, because, without the nickel core, which does not rotate like the outer layers, there would be no magnetic poles on earth and the rocks formed along the bottom edge of the crust would easily fall apart to the inner core, and the planet would be much hotter, and the terrain would be all about the same level, however the planet would still exist.
Yes, that's the way the earth was designed. It doesn't have 4 layers for nothing.
