Is there a plug or connection on a nissan primera to connect a multi changer CD p layer?

Nissan Primera 2002 new shape (P12)Is there a plug or connection on a nissan primera to connect a multi changer CD p layer?
I suspect you can hook into the satellite radio adapter if equip. Then a I pod interface have your entire CD collection in your car at all times and control from the radio face or steering wheel controls. To tell if your Nissan has this capability push the Am FM selector and see if SAT comes up in the display. Most people these days purchase a better radio with Navagation and even TV screen XM or Sirius radios with MP-3 Hook Ups.Is there a plug or connection on a nissan primera to connect a multi changer CD p layer?

Why the ozone layer important to living things?

its my biology home work.. so plz try to make it simple.. but not to short.. :)..

thanx for the helpWhy the ozone layer important to living things?
the ozon layer keeps out harmful uva rays or uvb rays. without the layer, the water would evaporate, and we'd all burn to death. the ozon layer also makes it possible for different gases to stay on earth and not drift off into space. (i.e. oxygen)Why the ozone layer important to living things?
The ozone layer provides form of life for living things. Air to breath, resonable temperature, hydration etc. Basically it is a way to keep these variables constant. As well as fighting global warming..(sheilds from UV rays)
It filters out UV rays. If this light were to hit Earth, most life would die. See the link below to learn about it.
Ozone layer protects us from the violent rays of the sun. =)

Can I burn the LOTR trilogy into a single layer DVD?

All three movies are in .avi form and total 4.37GB.Can I burn the LOTR trilogy into a single layer DVD?
Standard DVD players read the .Vob format, the files you have now are in AVI format..

I would recommend you download ConvertXtoDVD. Ive been using it for a year now, never had a problem!

It will convert your video files to the dvd format readable by all standard dvd players, then burn automatically to DVD!

it is easy to use, fast and it works perfect for me.. give it a try, you'll love it

All 3 movies...each movie itself is already about 3 hours long and you barely get good quality on a single DVD. Now think about 3 movies onto one DVD. You can but the quality is not going to be great at all. Maybe if you're planning to watch it on a screen as small as an iPod maybe. I don't think it would be a great idea to have all 3 movies on one disc. So to answer your question, yes you can burn it onto a single layer DVD, but I think you shouldn't if you are planning to watch this with at least decent quality so don't waste your time trying.
yes of course you can, but u'll be risking picture quality and movie skipping.

any decent disc burning software would be able to compress-to-fit your avi movies into a single disc, toast titanium works good.

  • Does filling your gas tank completely effect the ozone layer in any one?

'gas tank' as in fossil fuels...no

CFC's affect the ozone layer not combustion of fossil fuels

Nop...not talking crap. Giving facts. CO2 causes the greenhouse effect not depletion of the ozone layer. The Cl affects the ozone layer, do you see any halogens in hydrocarbons...they're called hydrocarbons because they are compounds containing hydrogen and carbon :) When driving your car the NOx gases produced from the exhaust react with molecular oxygen, O2 to produce ozone, O3. But this is tropospheric and does not affect the ozone layer either...but does cause a lot of problems in lungs...especially in Urban areas.Does filling your gas tank completely effect the ozone layer in any one?
Thought i was talking crap? Report Abuse
Does filling your gas tank completely effect the ozone layer in any one?
Actually filling your car has no affect. The problem is found when you drive your car. When the gas is being used, carbon is emitted. While the earth does need carbon, too much of it causes heat to be trappd in the atmostphere. However, it has no affect on the actual ozone layer itself.

We at one time had a very large hole in the ozone layer; however, scientists have worked with politions to limit the uses of ozone depleting materials that contain CFC's, such as aerosol cans. The hole has shrunk and they say it will be completely gone by the end of the century.

Kudos to you for caring. Most people don't realize the problem at hand with this.
    NO!!!
    it's called Gas guzzling Yanks
    YES

By filling your tank, even if you then don't drive anywhere, you are emptying the fuel reservoir of the filling station and they will need it topped up, therefore causing pollution from the delivery truck

PS: jo 17 is talking crap. The ozone layer is affected by ALL POLUTION not just CFCs

    How is ozone layer damaged?

A group of chemicals known as halocarbons destroy ozone. The most familiar of these are chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).

Aerosols and old refrigerators have released CFCs into the atmosphere. UV radiation breaks down CFCs in the upper stratosphere, releasing chlorine. Once released, chlorine becomes a catalyst of ozone destruction. A catalyst is something that makes a chemical reaction happen more easily, but it remains unchanged or reforms by the end of the reaction. It can then take part in the reaction again.

During this process, the ozone molecule is destroyed while the chlorine catalyst reforms. A single chlorine atom in the stratosphere can destroy about 100,000 ozone molecules.

The ozone layer can be depleted by free radical catalysts, including nitric oxide (NO), hydroxyl (OH), atomic chlorine (Cl), and atomic bromine (Br). While there are natural sources for all of these species, the concentrations of chlorine and bromine have increased markedly in recent years due to the release of large quantities of manmade organohalogen compounds, especially chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and bromofluorocarbons.[3] These highly stable compounds are capable of surviving the rise to the stratosphere, where Cl and Br radicals are liberated by the action of ultraviolet light. Each radical is then free to initiate and catalyze a chain reaction capable of breaking down over 100,000 ozone molecules. Ozone levels, over the northern hemisphere, have been dropping by 4% per decade. Over approximately 5% of the Earth's surface, around the north and south poles, much larger (but seasonal) declines have been seen; these are the ozone holes.
the ozone layer is effected to the reasons of the chemicals we use or from the luxury items we use (a .c, computers, etc).these will go to the sky and then chemical reasons the ozone layer is effected

Does burning of tall grasses, plants, etc. affect the atmosphere or i mean the ozone layer...?

    just asking...

because our neighbors always burn the grasses and the smoke is very annoying!

And they are very annoying too!!!

    and...

it's bad for the soil too right??Does burning of tall grasses, plants, etc. affect the atmosphere or i mean the ozone layer...?
Burning does affect the ozone layer. Also the release of Carbon mon Oxide and Carbon Di oxide is more on green plants than the dried one. This also result in suffocation, blood pressure, asthma and other breathing related issues.

If the burning is too intense and of high temperature, it will also burn the combustible manures and minerals in the soil and changing them to just carbon. This in few places stands good for the soil (soil which has less carbon content) and proves bad for some soil (soil which is rich in carbon but has less organic manures)Does burning of tall grasses, plants, etc. affect the atmosphere or i mean the ozone layer...?
Burning doesn't affect the ozone layer, but can affect the atmosphere through the greenhouse effect. It is where CO2 and other greenhouse gases build up and forms a layer stopping heat from getting out which causes global warming.

Burning tall grasses and plants doesn't affect the soil in any way I know.

    Can you layer different mascaras?

i've tried some of the volume+lengthening mascaras, and they never seem to do both the best. i was wondering if you layer a strictly lengthening mascara %26amp; one that only makes more volume, will the outcome be much better? if so, what order should they go in ?Can you layer different mascaras?
yes, you can totally do that! it can really give you the best of both worlds. i do this all the time, and it works out really well.

as far as order goes it really depends on the mascaras you use. just try things out until you're satisfied with the look you get. maybe do a trial where you put the thickening on over the lengthening on one eye, and do the opposite to the other so you can compare them and see which you like more.

hope this helps! Can you layer different mascaras?
i totally layer several mascaras ... i use loreal volume shocking mascara with revlon fabulash mascara and then the voluminous on top

so i get that really thick, long sexy butterfly lashes.. and it totally works

like that's the first thing people notices about me.. are my eyes and everybody thinks i have faux lashes..(which i never use)

so as long as it makes you happy.. i say to experiment..
Of course you can. I do all the time. (:

The result will be that your eyelashes will be much, much more longer, but the risk is extreme clumping or ';spider lashes'; and brittle eyelashes if you mess up. I don't think the order really matters, but I would put on the lengthening one on first.

    Hope this helps you!

    x
Of course you can! I do it all the time. The outcome is definitely better. Covergirl Lash Blast is amazing. Always remember to apply 2 coats as well! The order you do it doesn't really matter but if i had to say.. probably the volume and then the lengthening.
What I always do is use my mascara that properly separates my lashes, and then put on one with a lengthening or volumising effect. Put on the lengthening one first, and then go for the volume!!

    Xxx
Yes, you can but it's tricky, it does however mean that your eyelashes are longer although you have to make sure you don't mess it up otherwise it goes everywhere x
Yeah, I always mix 2 or 3 mascaras. There's no particular order...? It works realllyyy good!
sure, you can combine them to suit your needs!
well it depends on where your laying them but if you do it on the right spot sure.

    Good Luck!!!

Can you layer white over black?

Or does it look bad?Can you layer white over black?
Black over white looks so much better. Because if you put black under white you can see the black through the white and it really depends on what it looks like. Can you layer white over black?
It all depends what exactly you are layering over what.....but you cld.
    no,black over white
it's all personal opinion but I personally don' t like it. I think it looks bad.
    white over black?

hmm.. i'm assuming you mean like blazer over white top, kinda thing..

uh..no..looks odd, esp since black can show through white..
BAD!! I used to do that now i totallly regret it :P

But mebees try black aver white totally CUTE!

    Hope i helped you!

    Look beautiful Darling!

    Kisses xxx
yeah you can do it, it will only look bad if the white is see-though, if it is then you dont want to do it. but if its not then it'lll look really cute. i layer white over black all the time, i just make sure that the white is NOT see though.
I think you should only layer black over white
i rekon it'll look fabulous, black and white tops and match with everything

strips that are black and white are hot....

they are like tones , so it will look good,
Well if you are painting, black will always overshadow white and will change all white colour of all white paints into black again to be very honest in colour pigmentation and colouring technology. For this instance, if you are thinking of changing a makeup or changing a room colour, you will have to buy the white cement or paint many thicker layers of base colour to overshadow the black and then paint white on top of the base colour when base colour is dry giving you a neutral colour, some base colour in paint comes comes in different colours depending on your budget, ask your paint dealers if you are not sure about base colours. Look for nippon paint and ICI paint and ask them for base colours to help you overcome dark room by many several stages and generations, not all at an instant to be honest.

The choice of the paint depends on your budget if you can think straight and concentrate on painting or art science only.

  • Why do peanuts have skin on them? They already have an outer layer of protection?

The skin deveolpes from the mesocarp of the fruit. Not all biological features have a necssary function but I think in this case it will help keep the nut from drying out.Why do peanuts have skin on them? They already have an outer layer of protection?
it the outer layer of tissue.. like our skin that keeps in moisture and protects the delicate cells within for sproutingWhy do peanuts have skin on them? They already have an outer layer of protection?
The outer layer of protection is against mechanical damage as the stolon that produces the peanut grows into the soil. It is not however waterproof so an inner integuement is necessary to keep the plant embryo and its food supply from drying out. Peanuts are designed to produce other peanuts, not feed humans and animals so the design is to benefit the peanut.
Because that's the way God made them. Why don't you ask him?
    **************

The same reason you have skin on you. You already have clothes for protection

    **************
    to keep dirt away
    lol at wildchild!!!!!

and MissTiff, whoa!!!!!!!thats a scary thought, humans have skin!
We have a maple tree outside which throws out a lot of seeds every Year:

    http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10鈥?/a>

When opening the cover, there's a little gree thing shaped as a peanut with a skin and inside two connected pieces.

Many seeds have this characteristic. The shell I'll assume makes sure it gets deep enough in the groud(shell breaks with little pressure after time, weather and temperature) to properly grow. The 'skin' of the peanut makes sure the two nutrient rich pieces are together until the plant has the right conditions to sprout.
It is the nature's way of protections. It is the seed coat or testa in the botanical language.
Because the skin, not the shell, protects the real ';egg'; inside. Each peanut shell holds two or so peanuts, each of which could grow into another plant. Inside each of these peanuts, you find two halves which provide food to the little nib on the end, the embryo. All of that is encased because it is one full system, ready to grow into a plant.
It keeps the nut from drying out and greedy animals from getting to it and devouring it.

    Poetess777
To contain and protect. How many LAYERS of skin do we have - aren't we all part of the Oneness!
    why do you think?
I think this is a great question and several of the answers contain really good information. I never thought about it before, and it is a fascinating question. This layer contains some powerful antioxidants and other materials that is the source of pharmaceuticals.

Lots of seeds have multiple layers. For example, the coconut has FOUR layers.
they were just made that way??
how did this become a featured question?
They're just like people. We have skin on us. You wouldn't wanna go around with no skin on you except bones right? Well I'm sure peanuts feel the same way. I guess it makes them feel . . . naked in a way.
    To stay warm!
so it's harder to eat and to get you annoyed.
The skin is a membrane similar to the membrane lining the inside of an eggshell.
So that the skin will get stuck in your teeth, and when other little peanuts see you coming they know you're a peanut murderer and they can run for their little lives.
    Natural protection against diseases.
They don't want people looking at their nuts! They're all male ya know! LOL, good question though.
so they can feel the outer layer
to keep the good cruch in it!
    to protect the nut inside!
Every bio-creature has it for its protection.
    i dont know
The skin protects the delicios oils that give the peanuts flavor
The skin is not just a dry second shell. Skins also have antioxidants like the outer shell, but at a higher level. The antioxidant helps to preserve the nut inside.
Everything that god put on this earth for us to eat has skin.

What happend to the ozone layer,i remember a few years ago we where all supposed to fry,is it still a problem.

Now THIS is a very interesting question.

About 20 years ago (notice the timing) we were told that the hole in the ozone layer was getting bigger, and, as you say, we were all going to fry if we didn't do something about it. We were told that CFC's (chloro-flouro-carbons) were disslving the ozone and that we either had to stop emissions of CFC's or start using a higher rating SPF sunblock.

The answer to this was to stop using CFC's... predominently used as coolant in fridges and air conditioners. So... the industrialised countries stopped using CFC's and the hole in the ozone layer gradually started closing. The thing I never really got about this was.. how did stopping CFC emissions in the Northern Hemisphere fix the Ozone hole over the South Pole? and why didn't all the Antarctic Ice melt while the hole was there?... anyway, I digress.

The real interesting thing here is the timing. Global Warming started about 20 years ago right?... we've just celebrated the 20th anniversary of it's discovery haven't we?. Well... this coincides allmost exactly with the closing of the hole in the ozone layer.

Now Ozone, being higher in the atmosphere than the greenhouse gasses is a crucial point here. Up untill the late eighties the greenhouse gases could escape through the ozone hole, but when we fixed that, then the greenhouse gasses were trapped and started to build up... hence global warming.

The correlation is very strong and it's ';almost certain';, in fact I'll bet my hockey stick, that the cause of Global Warming is actually ACO... Anthropogenic CFC Ommissions.

I'm sure I can find 2,500 people from somewhere who, without conducting any research of their own, ( the IPCC doesn't actually DO research, check out their mandate http://www.ipcc.ch/about/index.htm ) will offer the same opinion as me.

However, even if I can actually find 2,500 self interested people to back me, I doubt I can ever turn this into a global movement, as re-introduction of CFC's isn't going to buy me the 'green' vote... which is politically what's driving the whole Global Warming machine. What happend to the ozone layer,i remember a few years ago we where all supposed to fry,is it still a problem.
The scare is over. We've spent the money to replace and retrofit perfectly good equipment for more expensive equipment and less effective refrigerants. All to find out, the ozone layer was fine. Y2k didn't work, terror alerts didn't work and acid rain didn't work. Doesn't look like AGW is working either,

People are going to have to come up with a new scare. What happend to the ozone layer,i remember a few years ago we where all supposed to fry,is it still a problem.
well i dont believe that we are going to fry until about a million or over years. but yes global warming is still a problem. anarctic animals are going insticnt still. glaciers are melting. and the world is getting hotter. which is why we need to start taking car pools and less factories to save the earth.
Laws banning the production and use of Ozone damaging chemicals were passed, other chemicals to do the same jobs were invented, and the problem is basically solved.
We didn't fry, although the hole is still there over Antarctica. But the fad kinda died off, and a new one had to be found. In a few years global warming will be replaced by something else.
same as the ice age a few years before the ozone hole was '; found'; And probably the same with the warming the man made warming I mean I believe its natural.
Personally I would not call a .4 degree increase --- ';frying';.
soon as God gets his magnifying glass back.
no because the hole is a lot smaller

What causes thinning of ozone layer?

i need something short and sweet but mainly describes it in a nutshellWhat causes thinning of ozone layer?
The overall cause of ozone depletion is the presence of chlorine-containing source gases, like CFCs. In the presence of UV light, these gases dissociate, releasing chlorine atoms, which then go on to catalyze ozone destruction. This mechanism takes place everywhere, where there is sunlight. The overal effect is a gradual depletion (a few percent per year) of the ozone layer.

The effect is enhanced at the poles, because of the formation of polar stratospheric clouds which act as catalyzers.

What is the ';true'; onion layer meaning of karate?

My teacher gave me this question to solve.HELP!!!!!!!!! I am stumped!!!!What is the ';true'; onion layer meaning of karate?
I have never taken karate, but maybe this will give you an idea of direction....

in Eastern traditions, layers are referred to to indicate the layer upon layer we have built up within ourselves, as our personality self. Personality is not seen as the true self, but a compilation of conditioned beliefs. In other words, personality is what we have been programmed to believe to be true, to be ';who'; we think we are. Truth being viewed as a relative perception (it depends on who is doing the looking, as to what the ';truth'; will be). There are so many of these layers, they are like an onion, (obvious) and must be peeled away to begin to perceive the real, or true self.

Most people do not undertake this endeavor, and so run through their lives believing ';this is just the way I am';. In martial arts, as in meditation, in order to become a master, one must find ones center. And to get there from here, you first have to find out how YOU really feel, what you really think and believe beyond what you have been taught and have accepted without serious consideration. ';Know thyself'; is the simplest of phrases, and yet it can take great focused effort to achieve-and I believe the same self-discipline as your martial art. That focus and discipline on being ';seated'; in your center brings the truth of you about.

Hope that made sense, it is a little challenging for me to put in a nutshell like this. Good luck! What is the ';true'; onion layer meaning of karate?
If you are asking for a translation of the Japanese word Karate it just means ';empty hand';If you are asking why it came to be used,it came from the monks who were not allowed to carry weapons but still had to have a means of defending themselves. If you are asking why it is still used today and what it actually means.Much of the meaning is lost except to the teachers and most people use it today in a way that has nothing to do with the purer meaning of before.Every form of karate requires that avoidance of trouble is paramount,if that is not possible then to defend as far as possible, that, too, failing then to attack with just enough force as to prevent further trouble. If you need more info and I can help, just add to your question.

    What is ';The Phospholipid Bi-Layer';?

I know what it is. I just need details on the functions, Structure and any other things. What is ';The Phospholipid Bi-Layer';?
Phospholipids are the major structural components of the liposome lipid bi-layer. Phospholipids are amphiphilic molecules. They consist of a glycerol backbone with two long fatty-acid chains (R-groups), and a polar portion of the molecule. The polar portion, a phosphate ester group, can be attached to a phosphatidyl ethanolamine, a phosphatidyl choline, or a phosphatidyl inositol. The most commonly used phospholipid is phosphatidyl choline, also known as lecithin. It can be readily obtained from egg yolk and soya bean, less readily from bovine heart and spinal cord (R.R.C. New 1990).

Apart from phospholipids, sterols are also commonly inserted into the membrane. They do not by themselves form bilayer structures, but their incorporation can bring about major changes in the properties of these membranes. They can be inserted in very high concentrations, up to 1:1 or even 2:1 molar ratios of sterol to phospholipid. Examples of sterols are: cholesterol in mammals, stigmasterol and sitosterol from plants and ergosterol from yeasts, fungi and some protozoa.

In addition, we are able to insert various lipophilic or amphiphilic molecules into the lipid membrane. These include proteins/peptides, glycopeptides and carbohydrates. These have various functions such as affecting the stability of the membrane, or targeting of the liposome. Since the means of their incorporation is entirely physical, there is little restriction on the types of molecules to be inserted. Only 2 types of molecules are unsuitable: molecules that are insoluble in either aqueous or organic media, and molecules that are highly soluble in both. What is ';The Phospholipid Bi-Layer';?
    i have no idea
I'm assuming you are at least A level if not an undergrad

    :

OK the phospholipid bilayer is pretty much as it sound a double layer of lipids with phosphate head groups. Because lipid molecules are hydrophobic they pack together so that they are not exposed to water (it's a hydrophobic interaction, look it up if you need to understand the thermodynamics). Phospholipids also contain a phosphate group, the head group. The phosphate is a polar molecule so likes the water. Basically what you get is the phosphate group making a layer on the outside and attached to two lipid tails. These face the lipid groups of from the second layer and the phosphate group from that is on the outside.

That's the basic explanation of the structure and if you are A-level that should be enough.

Don't forget though that there are other molecules that sit in the bilayer, mainly proteins. Also you can have carbohydrate attachments to the lipids to make glycolipids and to the proteins to make glycoproteins. Some proteins run right through the membrane and some sit on one side or the other

If you are an undergrad:- then you will need to look up the different types of lipids etc. cis vs trans double bonds in the lipids change the melting point of the lipid and so the fluidity of the system (look up mesomorphism). You will also need to look at flipping which occurs in the membrane, where a phospholipid from one layer can flip into the next. All of this is part of the fluid mosaic model.

OK functions, obviously a barrier, but it is also used for cytoskeletal attachment and signalling (mainly through the proteins etc embedded into the membrane). Sorry that is all I can think of off the top of my head.

    Hope this helps.

Any modern DVD burning program (Nero, Roxio, ImgBurn, K3b, etc...) can burn dual-layer discs. The main problem is getting a burner capable of burning them.Do you need special kind of software to burn a DL (dual layer) dvd? I have the hardware. What kind of software
No, it comes with your drive. I have a Memorex 16x DL DVD drive. The software that controls the drive controls how much it holds and if it will burn a single or dual layer. Other programs that copy DVDs use the drive as a device and its capacity. If they detect dual layer, they may prompt for the option, but the driver controls whether or not the option is available for your drive.

Now, if your question is that you wish to copy a DVD that is protected, that is completely different. It might be illegal to do so under some circumstances, but does require special software to do so. Your software will have to ';decode'; the DVD. copy it, then recode the new DVD.

I went through many programs that I tested that did not work. I finally found one called ';DVD-Cloner'; that seemed to work. Then, they ';upgraded'; the program and gave only one copy demo to evaluate. That evaluation failed for me and I contacted the company. They failed to respond, which tells me ';DVD-Cloner'; could be a fraud and don't care about anything else but milking profit.

Also, check with your State to see if you are authorized to create ';backup copies'; of DVDs that you have purchased.

What is the best base layer?

I play rugby and am looking for a long sleeved base layer to keep me warm and I would like to know which is best. I had been looking at the canterbury cold shirt or under armour coldgear mock, which is the more expensive one. Does anyone know if it is any better or if you,re just paying for the brand?

Hyperkeratotic skin lesions are als known as a disease of the basal layer of the skin! True or false?

Well, they can be. Seborrheic keratosis certainly is but i don't know about other lesions. Prickle cells synthesise keratin as well and they aren't in the basal layer, so it doesn't seem inevitable.Hyperkeratotic skin lesions are als known as a disease of the basal layer of the skin! It's false.

Is solving a Rubik's Cube with four or more squares just like solving one with three (via the layer method)?

I know how to solve one in a minute and 42 seconds using the layer method and was wondering if getting a Rubik's cube with more than three squares could be solved using the same method. I'm up for a challenge! Is solving a Rubik's Cube with four or more squares just like solving one with three (via the layer method)?
No, because you have to see that their is a group of pieces in the center, so it would be next to impossible to solve it like that.

Many people use what is called the reduction method, then you solve it like a 3x3x3. Google ';Reduction Method'; to learn more.

because 1 piece in each layer is so less. what should i do? can i put 5 pieces together in one layer of my hair, wouldn't that be easier? For clip hair extensions can i put 2 piece in 1 layer?
In my opinion, I dont think that you need 5 pieces to make one layer but it really depends on what you want. If you want your hair fuller then yes, by all means, use 5 pieces. But if you want a more sleeker look then you should use less pieces in each layer.

Are cars, buses and trains making the hole in the ozone layer bigger?

Cars, buses and trains are part of what is making the hole in the ozone layer bigger but the mere fact that we as humans don't take responsibility towards it makes it even bigger by the minute. By planting more tress we would increase the level of oxygen. Every tree has life in it and it gives life to us. Bit by bit we are killing ourselves with our own mishaps.

CFC (chlorofluorocarbon) is also a cause of global warming, this is found mostly in hairsprays and C02 is also unhealthy in some ways.Although C02 is necessary for every human being (and this also found in the ozone layer) we are exceeding the necessary.

Lets stop global warming by recycling, using hybrids cars and being aware of the current situation let us all be tree huggers (it's a good thing). Are cars, buses and trains making the hole in the ozone layer bigger?
    No

the hole is casued by chlorine from the CFC'S used in the baby boomer generation.

The co^2 is added to the extra heat kept on the earth, causing it to warm up.Are cars, buses and trains making the hole in the ozone layer bigger?
    No.

Fossil fuels produce other pollutants when they burn. The culprit behind the ozone hole is refrigerants from air conditioners and propellants from spray cans getting into the atmosphere, and the harmful ones were discontinued in the USA and elsewhere years ago. Actually scientists have started noting that the ozone hole shows signs of shrinking from year to year.
of course they let pollution out of their exhaust tank, that goes into our air and soon into our ozone layer.
Apparently not as the hole that was is now starting to ';heal'; itself
Only if the chemicals used in auto air conditioning is handled improrperly. Now they state that emission from vehicles is slowing the repair of the Ozone Layer.
Probably! Most things seem to be. I think that to some extent they will/.

Whats is the effects of the thinning of the ozone layer?

biology form 4... i need to make an essaysWhats is the effects of the thinning of the ozone layer?
Even minor problems of ozone depletion can have major effects. Every time even a small amount of the ozone layer is lost, more ultraviolet light from the sun can reach the Earth.

Every time 1% of the ozone layer is depleted, 2% more UV-B is able to reach the surface of the planet. UV-B increase is one of the most harmful consequences of ozone depletion because it can cause skin cancer.

The increased cancer levels caused by exposure to this ultraviolet light could be enormous. The EPA estimates that 60 million Americans born by the year 2075 will get skin cancer because of ozone depletion. About one million of these people will die.

In addition to cancer, some research shows that a decreased ozone layer will increase rates of malaria and other infectious diseases. According to the EPA, 17 million more cases of cataracts can also be expected.

The environment will also be negatively affected by ozone depletion. The life cycles of plants will change, disrupting the food chain. Effects on animals will also be severe, and are very difficult to foresee.

Oceans will be hit hard as well. The most basic microscopic organisms such as plankton may not be able to survive. If that happened, it would mean that all of the other animals that are above plankton in the food chain would also die out. Other ecosystems such as forests and deserts will also be harmed.

This is just talking about the ozone layer getting thinner. I am not sure how bad it would get if the ozone layer were completely gone. It sounds like it would be catastrophic. Would we all die? I can't say, but we might suffer famine and shortened life spans at the least.Whats is the effects of the thinning of the ozone layer?
Increased UV radiation (skin cancer, immuno-suppression, cataracts in humans, diseases in plants, extinction of microorganisms like plankton)

I have BROWN hair , I want to dye the under layer BLACK?

Is that a good idea ...I have medium dark brown hair , and I want to get the under part black cuz I think it looks cute , %26amp; highlights look really bad on me . How much does it cost ? %26amp; if you wanted not to have it in your hair anymore how would you get rid of it ? Would you have to dye your hair all over or what ? Its seems like it would be hard to get black out %26amp; I see blondes doing it

If you have any info that would helpI have BROWN hair , I want to dye the under layer BLACK?
dying the underneath black wouldnt be a drastic change and i think u should go for it, it wouldnt be too difficult to dye back just dont try and dye it for a few weeks after putting in the black. i dont think u need to go to the hairdressers as its easy to do urself just tie the top quarter of ur hair up while u dye the underneath, u only need to keep a bit brown and it will still look like only a bits black.I have BROWN hair , I want to dye the under layer BLACK?
Before you dye your hair black--any part of it--you should be aware that black hair dye comes in permanent color only and takes a very long time to grow out. If you are doing just the back underlayer of hair, then that is all you would have to redye to get rid of the black dye, but the colors you buy may not be an exact match to your hair. Talk to a hairdresser before you decide, and good luck.
well i don't think that it would look that nice, since ur hair is brown and i just can't picture that style with black underneath. maybe try doing a different colour, i know someone who had brown hair and dyed the underneath a dark-purpleish colour, and it looked great. good luck
Since you have brown hair it would be easier to get the black out. For the cost it depends what salon you go to.
that would look totally awsome, i died my hair black all over, and the color faded by itself (and it was permanent) so dont worry about it

How does a dual layer DVD burner work?

    Dual layer recording

Dual Layer recording allows DVD-R and DVD+R discs to store significantly more data, up to 8.5 Gigabytes per disc, compared with 4.7 Gigabytes for single-layer discs. DVD-R DL was developed for the DVD Forum by Pioneer Corporation, DVD+R DL was developed for the DVD+RW Alliance by Philips and Mitsubishi Kagaku Media (MKM). [6]

A Dual Layer disc differs from its usual DVD counterpart by employing a second physical layer within the disc itself. The drive with Dual Layer capability accesses the second layer by shining the laser through the first semi-transparent layer. The layer change mechanism in some DVD players can show a noticeable pause, as long as two seconds by some accounts. This caused more than a few viewers to worry that their dual layer discs were damaged or defective, with the end result that studios began listing a standard message explaining the dual layer pausing effect on all dual layer disc packaging.

DVD recordable discs supporting this technology are backward compatible with some existing DVD players and DVD-ROM drives.[ Many current DVD recorders support dual-layer technology, and the price point is comparable to that of single-layer drives, though the blank media remain significantly more expensive. How does a dual layer DVD burner work?
you have a buy dual layer dvds (they can be expensive). the reason for them is that you can store twice as much data as your standard dvd. so you get 8gb per disc instead of 4.How does a dual layer DVD burner work?
There are two layers on the disk and they are both affected by a different intensity of lazer beam. So you need a special burner.

How is the palisade layer adapted to make alot of food?

thanx for answering! =)How is the palisade layer adapted to make alot of food?
Rectangular arrangement of cells towards upper surface of the leaf and contain a mass of chloroplasts.... these are 'lumps' of chlorophyll which are able to absorb light energy and use it to convert water and carbon dioxide into glucose by Photosynthesis. (Also producing oxygen in the process).

Being just under the epidermal cells the palisade is best positioned to absorb the majority of the sunlight that hits the leaves. Also the chloroplasts can stream around the cytoplasm moving to the top of the cell, near the surface and back to maximise their absorption of light energy.

The palisade cells then convert the soluble glucose into insoluble starch. Doing this means that the cells can store more food. If the cell only made glucose it would not be able to go on producing food all the time it was light.Later the starch is changed back to glucose to be transported in the vessels of the phloem to all other parts of the plantHow is the palisade layer adapted to make alot of food?
    - the palisade cells are stacked at right angles to the upper eperdermis to allow maximum light absorption

    - it has a large vacuole with a thin peripheral of cytoplasm meaning that chloroplasts can only be placed near to the edge of the cell allowing even more light absorption

    - proteins allow the chloroplasts to move around the palisade cells to allow maximum light absorption and to also protect them from excessive light intensities

Is a DVD broken or damaged if the metallic layer in it is wavy at the edge?

Instead of being straight, the edge is curvy, forming little waves all along it. The metallic layer is therefore missing in some parts, hence the space, but it is only at the edge and not anywhere else. Is it damaged, and will it stop working in a shorter amount of time because of this?Is a DVD broken or damaged if the metallic layer in it is wavy at the edge?
test the dvd out and find out?

How dvd dual layer +R/-R discs work?

There are 2 layers attached to the substrate. The ';lower'; layer is semi-reflective and when the laser is at full power it can read through that layer to the upper layer. The ';upper'; layer is fully reflective, just like the fully reflective layer of a single layer disc. The burning starts at the inside of the upper layer and continues to the outside of that layer. It then switches to the outside of the lower layer and continues back to the inside of the lower layer. This is referred to as OTP (opposite track pitch) because one layer reads in-to-out and the other is out-to-in. You can also burn discs with both layers going from the center out, but it makes the layer break much more noticeable unless you author the disc properly. How dvd dual layer +R/-R discs work?

  • Methane gas, CO2, the ozone layer, and the atmosphere?

how do all of these tie into Global Warming. Serious answers please.Methane gas, CO2, the ozone layer, and the atmosphere?
Methane and CO2 are both greenhouse gases, which reside in the upper atmosphere and prevent radiation of heat from the surface, causing increasing average temperatures - or global warming. The ozone layer is a layer within the atmosphere that protects the surface from ultraviolet radiation. It is affected by emissions of ozone depleting gases like CFCs. The atmosphere is the blanket of gases that surrounds the earth.Methane gas, CO2, the ozone layer, and the atmosphere?

  • How much important the ozone layer is?

The Ozone layer stops much of the Ultra-Violet rays and other harmful rays from the Sun reaching the earth's surface and possibly killing most terrestrial life on the planet.

    Kind regards

Dr Antony. How much important the ozone layer is?
The ozone is what maintains a constant climate on earth and when there is a hole in it harmful rays from the sun, like infra red and gamma, come in through the hole and cant get back out again when they hit the crust and bounce back up, this warms up the atmosphere and has an effect on the weather. It is one of the causes of global warming.

Well, whenever you are talking about correcting environmental issues, it'll cost dollars. So first, the economic cost of the measures. In order for an action to be justified, benefit has to out weigh the risk. So now you argue is the cost really justified?

You can cite studies...is there actual study with strong evidence that man are the real causes and the changes aren't just natural cycle?? are there any other cause that may have significant role instead of humans? If humans were to take such measure what's the actual effect? Would it be really significant enough to change the current trend? Are we the cause at all?

Also, the benefits of ozone layer...is it just speculation or fact?

have fun...What would be a good appeal 2 the other side for a persuasive essay on protection of the ozone layer?

Strange as it may sound, the ozone layer is created by ultraviolet light hitting the atmosphere, causing diatomic oxygen to form the triatomic form ozone. In the respective winters, hardly any light hits the atmosphere above the poles, hence no ozone gets formed.

The less extreme latitudes have a more constant exposure to the UV radiation, and can maintain a more stable layer (unless halogen traces wreak havoc with the chain reaction forming the ozone in the upper atmosphere).

Which is better materail for a trench coats outer layer?

felt wool or flannel? The wool material I have found says felted wool, doe sthat mean its like those little felt pieces you find in the crafts section????Which is better materail for a trench coats outer layer?
leather is the best outer layerWhich is better materail for a trench coats outer layer?
Go with the wool wool. It's made similar to the stuff at craft stores (basically the fiber is shrunk and made tighter and thicker by placing it in hot water) but craft felt is acrylic, felt wool is wool and a completely different class. Don't buy the craft felts. I have one overcoat made from boiled wool and it's very warm. If you're looking for inexpensive fabrics, then flannel.
I would go with washable wool.

  • Which aerobics/excercise is best for loosing that outer layer of belly fat?

The best way to lose inches in those hard spots is an intense cardio workout. Try something intense like Kick boxing or cycling in a gym. Always start slow but kick up the level of intensity as you feel more confident in the workout. These hard cardio workouts burn high amounts of calories and work your body hard to lose those inches. With a workout like this you should still be doing weight training so as to keep your body firm as you loose fat.Which aerobics/excercise is best for loosing that outer layer of belly fat?
You can't spot reduce fat in any one area on your body.

To see any progress you need a good exercise program and diet, the exercise is 20% of it and diet is 80% it is not a mater of eating less but of eating smarter.

Read the articles on the link I included, but two to three times a week is more than enough but the key is three to four times a week of intense cardio.

You can have the greatest, most muscular set of abs in the world, but if they are blanketed by a layer of body fat, who cares. In order to rid yourself of the extra body fat around your midsection, you need to incorporate effective cardio sessions into your fitness plan. You cannot spot-reduce the midsection by doing extra ab exercises like crunches or sit-ups. You first must burn off the body fat through proper cardio to properly define the area.

Abdominal training by itself will not do much. Cardio needs to be intense enough to do the trick. But you have to start at a moderate pace and slowly increase time and intensity of your cardio workout, you can鈥檛 just start jogging or running 30 to 45 min. Start by power walking if done indoors use a treadmill and set a incline of at least 7 or 8 and a speed of 3.0 to 3.8. and at your own pace increase the intensity and duration of the workout (push yourself but don't kill yourself).

Exercise: In order to rid yourself of the extra body fat, you need to incorporate effective cardio sessions into your fitness plan. Cardio needs to be intense enough to do the trick. Three to four sessions a week of intense jogging, running, the Stairmaster, the elliptical, jumping rope, or biking should be enough to get the process in gear. Swimming, hiking, and taking aerobics classes are beneficial as well. Nothing beats jogging or running. It is the most intense, efficient, and effective method of burning calories. If running outside hurts your joints, try running inside on a treadmill or outside on a dirt path.

I think it is pretty much understood these days that in order to lose weight you need to do some sort of weight training. Weight training benefits everyone, ranging from kids to the elderly.

What can weight training do for you?

    鈥?Increase strength

    鈥?Increase endurance

    鈥?Increase metabolism

    鈥?Relieve stress

    鈥?Increase and restore bone density

    鈥?Reduces the risk of osteoporosis

    鈥?Increase lean muscle mass

    鈥?Prevent injuries

    鈥?Improves balance

    鈥?Decreases the risk of disease

    鈥?Enhances sport performance

    鈥?Improves body image

    鈥?Lowers blood pressure

    鈥?Lowers resting heart rate

    鈥?Elevates mood

    鈥?Burns fat

With as little as two days a week of weight training, you can significantly change your physique and your life by adding this into your regimen. Of course if you can get in 3-4 days of weight training a week that would be even better. Weight training can either be done in full body workouts or they can be split up into certain muscles groups each day. Either way you choose to train will be effective in helping you reach your weight loss goals.

Diet: You need to get quality protein, EFA, good carb's from whole wheat and multi grain, lots of veggies and fruits. Eat small meals every 2 or 3 hours no more than 400 to 500 calories per meal if you want to gain mass if you want to loss weight 250 to 350 calories per meal and try not to eat anything at lest two hours before you go to sleep..

You need from .8 to 1.2 grams of protein per pound of body weight a day, if you weigh 150 lbs. you need from 120 to 180 grams of protein a day but it needs to be quality protein.

Some good sources of protein are:

    Fish: Salmon, Tuna, etc.

Poultry: Turkey, chicken both skinless and preferably white meat.

Beef: lean cuts 93% or more.

Dairy: low fat Milk, low fat yogurt, low fat cheese.

    Nuts and peanut butter.

    Protein shakes and bars.

    whey protein for the post workout, and take the casein protein right before you go to bed, the whey protein is a fast digesting protein it takes no longer than 45 min to an hour and a half to digest this makes it great for post workout ';Whey protein has the highest biological value of the proteins, at 100%. This means it is absorbed completely by the body. For this reason, I recommend you have a protein drink after your workout. One that contains a pure whey protein concentrate and/or isolate. These protein sources are broken down easily and digested rapidly in the body.';,and the casein is a slow digesting protein that can take up to 6 or 7 hours to digest ';this makes casein is the perfect complement to whey, the protein synthesized from casein is used more directly in muscle-building than that synthesized from whey.';

鈥?Pre-Bed Meals %26amp; Nighttime Meals: Bedtime meals or meals in the middle of the night should be high in casein. The percentages don't really matter. Sure, you could include some whey, but since casein is more slowly digested and absorbed into the blood, it should make up the bulk of the protein in these meals.

This will help to ensure a better blood amino acid profile throughout the night. Some suggestions for these meals are non-fat cottage cheese with some casein, Grow!, or Advanced Protein mixed in; casein powder, Grow!, or Advanced Protein mixed in skim milk; oatmeal with casein, Grow!, or Advanced Protein mixed in.

鈥?Post-Workout Meals: Post-workout meals should contain whey protein hydrolysate as the only protein source. Since this is the most rapidly and efficiently absorbed protein source, it will quickly supply muscles the much needed amino acids for recovery.

If you are not going to use hydrolysates however, at least choose a whey-only source because of it's relatively rapid absorption and delivery when compared with other drinks.

It will say right on the door. Dont waste your money tho. They are dysfunctional for anything but data you want to load only on your pc with that drive.Do DVD burners usually state they can burn Dual layer or should they specifically say so?
Burners are burners. If the date/movie does not fit a single layer disc it will tell you it needs more space. It will eject the disc and you insert a DL disc and burn.
usually there is a little emblem on the faceplate that will have a symbol and the letters DL on it
usually they will burn dual layer if they can burn regular, mine does ^^
DL=dual layer, they have to say so on the DVD drive~
most of them can but they should also say so on the box.

What is the Best DVD-R brand for burning a 1 Gigabyte high-quality video? A one that isn't a Double Layer!

Coz I have this 1 GB video file and I want it to look just perfect when I play it over at my friend's pad.

And, would the video quality be better for the 1GB video if you put it in a branded Double Layer DVD or would be just the same when you put in just a branded 4.7GB DVD-R?What is the Best DVD-R brand for burning a 1 Gigabyte high-quality video? A one that isn't a Double Layer!
I think it would be hard to find 10 people who will unanimously agree on what brand is best. Any of the major brands (Memorex, Sony, Databank, Iomega, Verbatim, etc.) might be able to meet your expectations. Key word -- might. Just like some cars seem to run better with a specific brand of gasoline, DVD burners seem to prefer different brands of disks. And just because playback on your computer is perfect, playback on a different machine could result in color shifts, audio differences, etc.

I do not believe quality will be any better using a double layer disk. From my own experiments, recording speed seems to affect quality more than brand or type of disk. The slower the recording speed the better the quality. I'd invest in a few different brands, record the same couple of minutes of video on each, then compare the results. Because no matter what anyone else says, only you can decide if the finished product is acceptable.

Yes, the top-most atmospheric layer - The Exosphere

It has the lowest pressure because pressure drops as altitude increases. This is due to the atmospheric air being pulled towards the surface of the Earth due to gravity. Which means air density is less as you go up cause there is lesser and lesser air mass above you. Air density %26amp; air pressure is perpendicular cause as density goes down pressure goes down too and vice versa.

    Hi

Which layer's throughput can DUmeter detect? The Physical layer? Mac layer, or the application layer?

Thanks.Which layer's throughput are DUmeter capable of detecting?
Apparently DU meter operates on Layer 2 (MAC)and above.

Since the physical layer is just the wire there would be nothing to measure, at layer 2 (MAC) you would see data such as broadcasts (not sure why anyone would want to see this, at least until you had a broadcast storm). The data that you would really want to see is at layer 3 and above.

    32 ounces refried beans

4 ounces green chiles, chopped and drained

    1 envelope taco seasoning mix

2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted

    2 tablespoons lemon juice

    16 ounces taco sauce, divided

    1 1/2 cups sour cream

    3 cups lettuce, shredded

    6 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded

    black olives, sliced

    tortilla chips

In a medium bowl, mix together refried beans, green chilies and taco seasoning mix. Spread on a 12-inch round serving platter. Blend avocados, lemon juice and 1/2 cup taco sauce until smooth. Spread sour cream on top of avocado mixture. Top with shredded lettuce, cheese, taco sauce and olive slices. Serve with tortilla chips.7 layer bean dip?
2 16 oz cans refried beans

2 4 oz cans chopped jalapeno or green chiles -- drained

    2 large tomatoes -- chopped

    1 large onion -- chopped

    16 ounces sour cream

    2 large avocados -- mashed

    2 envelopes taco seasoning mix

8 ounces cheddar and/or mozzarella cheese -- shredded

    1 4 oz can chopped black olives -- (1 to 2)

Combine refried beans and taco seasoning in a mixing bowl. Mix well.

Spread mixture evenly on the bottom of a 7x13x2 inch baking dish.

Sprinkle chopped chiles evenly over the refried bean mixture.

Spread a layer of sour cream evenly over all.

Spread a layer of mashed avocados over the sour cream.

Spread the cheese over the avocados.

Evenly sprinkle chopped tomatoes over the avocados.

Evenly sprinkle chopped olives over all.

Place baking dish in the oven on low heat until cheese melts and the other

ingredients are warmed. Serve with tortilla chips.

Mix the refried beans and taco seasoning together (I also mix the chili's in

with this, but some people put the chiles as a layer) Mix this really well

(I used a food processor, but today I am going to use my mixer). This is

    the first layer.

Put a layer of sour cream on top of the refried beans, taco seasoning and

    chiles.

Next put a layer of well mixed/mushed avocados (you need enough to cover the

pan, I use a cake pan normally) on top of everything else

Next sprinkle cheeses on top (I just thought about it and I put the avocado

first and then the sour cream, but I suppose it doesn't matter). I think

the more cheese the better myself *grin*!

Next cut up tomatoes and add as many as you like, which I like to use at

    least 2 cut up tomatoes.

    Last put chopped up olives.

Put in the oven until the cheese is melted. I use a low heat so that

    everything else warms up.

Last but not least pull out the chips and dip!

your not doing nothing wrong, it happenLayer of film on top of hot drinks?
a film will always form when you make anything hot with milk. i suggest warming up your milk and then pouring it on top of milo in a separate cup. so instead of adding milo to milk, add milk to milo. it wont completely eliminate a film from producing, but it sure helps and makes a difference. another thing you could do is, while your adding the milk to the milo, only add a little bit so its a thick paste, then add the rest of the milk so all the powder is dissolved. it will be much smoother. good luck.

    Happens with hot cereal too!
if the milk gets to hot the protein in it forms a layer of film.

I tried installing an External Dual Layer DVDR. Everything defaults back to the CDR and wants to copy from it?

Any suggestions?I tried installing an External Dual Layer DVDR. Everything defaults back to the CDR and wants to copy from it?
Is windows seeing it? Can you read DVDs in windows from it? This can be hard to disagnose from what you have said. Several things can be to blame. If windows see it and you can read DVDs my next thing would be the software. Did you install the software that came with it or were you using the software that came with your CDR? Some software will only work with certain DVDRs. If you installed the software that came with it you should have an option to change to the DVDR. That is how mine works. If not do you have an option to show drive info? Hope this is a starting point!I tried installing an External Dual Layer DVDR. Everything defaults back to the CDR and wants to copy from it?
Depends on the burning software usually, need to make sure it is set to copy from the external and not the internal. If it is not seeing the external check to make sure it is installed properly.

  • What is the advantage of a Dual Layer DVD writer?

In theory, you could copy a feature length movie (most of which are on 8.5 gb dual layer disks) onto one without having to compress it. But the blanks are still very expensive, and the whole DVD shebang is on the verge of obsolencence anyway, so don't bother with it if you haven't already got one, unless you have a specific reason for having one. What is the advantage of a Dual Layer DVD writer?
this copies on two sides of a disk,, so twice as much stuff, like music, photos etc,,,What is the advantage of a Dual Layer DVD writer?
Dual Layer recording allows DVD-R and DVD+R discs to store significantly more data, up to 8.5 Gigabytes per disc, compared with 4.7 Gigabytes for single-layer discs. DVD-R DL (dual layer) was developed for the DVD Forum by Pioneer Corporation, DVD+R DL (double layer) was developed for the DVD+RW Alliance by Sony.

DVD recordable discs supporting this technology are backward compatible with some existing DVD players and DVD-ROM drives. Many current DVD recorders support dual-layer technology, and the price point is comparable to that of single-layer drives, though the blank media remains significantly more expensive. Currently the technology has severe problems with compatibility in hardware DVD players.

When a DVD disc is dual layer, there is sometimes a noticeable pause in video play. This is seemingly most notable in the movie Black Hawk Down, when a soldier's arm is severed and another soldier picks it up. A lot of confusion arose because of this (with people thinking their discs were damaged).
all of the above answers are crap double layer means it burns faster with less burn errors
A dual layer DVD-Writer allows you to record twice the amount of data as a single layer writer. This can be very helpful when you are working with feature length video. Most commercial DVD discs are actually Dual Layer discs.
dual layer dvd increases the size of the dvd in gigabytes.. from 4.3?? to 8.2? something like that,, unless you need to burn big ammounts of data its not really worth the upgrade if thats what your thinking but if your out to buy new for sure go with the dual layer,, it will be needed eventually hmmm buy movies online download and burn.. Apple Imovies?? hmmmm
Basically you can write about 8.5GB of data as opposed to 4.7GB of data on a standard dvd. (This requires a dual layer disk as well as writer).

Unlock layer in Photoshop CS when first opening picture?

I play around in Photoshop CS all the time, but whenever I open a picture the layer comes up immediately locked; and its irritating to constantly duplicate the layer.

Is there an option somewhere in settings to have pictures open with their background layer unlocked automatically?Unlock layer in Photoshop CS when first opening picture?
Nontransparent background layers are locked by default in Photoshop. No easy way around it besides duplicating the layer.Unlock layer in Photoshop CS when first opening picture?
You shouldn't have to make a duplicate layer. You should be able to just double click on the lock image for it to disappear.

Then again, I haven't opened photoshop in ages as I've gotten into 3D modelling so I'm a little rusty.
There is no way to automatically unlock a layer UNLESS...

your camera saves pics as .psd/.png/(any 'layerable' file type)

you just need to save the file as a .psd and tada! no more default lock. it's layered now.
I have wondered about this myself. I would like this as a default. I think the only thing you can do is create an acton and use a keyboard shortcut to activate it.

What is the rind of bacon - is it the skin, or just a different layer of fat?

It is the skin. It is a shame that I cannot find slabs of bacon locally. When I was growing up we saved the rind for seasoning. Can't eat canned green beans without it. Pot of greens like spinach or Collards are better with it.What is the rind of bacon - is it the skin, or just a different layer of fat?

How long do you think the ozone layer protecting us from UV light will last(we are getting skin cancer)???

Well, we've been using CFCs for quite a while now, even though their use is being phased out. However, this is only in developed countries. In lesser developed countries, they continue to use CFCs as it is a cheaper means of cooling. If this goes on, the ozone layer may suffer great damage in a few decades and who knows what sort of trouble that it could causeHow long do you think the ozone layer protecting us from UV light will last(we are getting skin cancer)???
It seems to me that the ozone is getting thinner. Heck, I remember when we didn't use sun screen at all. I remember when I didn't get sun burns even after all day in the sun. Bottom line, protect your skin from the sun. Wear hats, etc.
